Goats are usually born with two horns, but rare genetic mutations can lead to some individuals having four horns. This mutation is quite rare and mostly affects certain breeds like Jacob and Icelandic goats. The extra set of horns grow from the base of the skull, just like the original set, and extend upwards and outwards. The size and shape of the horns may vary depending on the individual. The function of the extra horns is not entirely clear; some believe that they help with defense in the wild, while others consider them as a genetic anomaly. However, having four horns does not affect a goat's health or behavior.
